Situated in the picturesque village of Winterton in the foothills of the Drakensberg, Lilac Lodge has a number of cottages available, ranging from a two sleeper to a ten sleeper.

All the cottages are tastefully decorated and equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible with en suite rooms and TV. Available are braai areas, pool, and trampoline and play area for children in a lovely big garden. You can also enjoy good South African home baked foods at our restaurant 'The Purple House'. Sit back, relax and enjoy wonderful hospitality and let us spoil you.

We offer berg hikes, mountain meander arts and crafts trail, Spieonkop Nature Reserve, Cheese Farm, world-famous Drakensberg Boys Choir school, Battle Fields and historic sites and golf, which is all within easy reach.

Very nice. Very clean. We asked for a key to be left because we came late. Everything was perfect. Thank you.

Fantastic very friendly and helpful thank you it is a beautiful place has everything you need for a break.

Convenient and comfortable by

Our room was large and warm and the beds were very comfortable. We were also able to check out much later on the day of departure than usual.

Great place by

Great place in the Drakensberg area. Very close to supermarkets for self catering. The cottage is large and comfortable. The outdoor area is also very nice. The host was very nice. The only negative point is that the place was smelling smoking, despite the many signs saying it is forbidden to smoke inside.

Susan was so welcoming on the day we arrived and spent a lot of time explaining where everything in the district was. We followed her recommendations and had a most enjoyable stay.

Area is quiet, lodge was warm, clean and well prepared for us
