Situated just outside Sutherland lies the Verlatenkoof Guest Farm. The farm offers comfortable accommodation including self-catering cottages which are fully equipped with crockery and cutlery, fridge and gas stove.
Our prices include all bed linen, towels and wifi.

Guests are please to bring their own ice.

Verlatenkloof offers accommodation ideal for families looking for the simple things in life. Accommodation comprises six units with solar electricity, gas cooking facilities, a fireplace and barbecue area are provided.

As Verlatenkloof is also a working farm, our guests are free to walk on the farm and also follow the sheep trail right to the top of the mountain where they can enjoy the wonderful view of rolling hills. The farm is the perfect base from which to explore the Sutherland area. In the evenings the stars are spectacular, while tours to SALT/Southern African Large Telescope can be arranged by your host.

WEEKENDS: a minimum stay of 2 nights required.

LONG WEEKENDS: only bookings for the full duration of the long weekend

Our family had a splendid time on the farm. Alta was the perfect host. Apart from the friendliness and making us feel welcome she surprised us Saturday evening with the most delicious home baked bread! Our baby girl loved looking at all the different animals. Their padstal is incredible. Take lots of money. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.

We stayed there for 2 days and it would have stayed more if they were not fully booked. It was probably one of the best stay overs I have ever had. No hassles and no issues. The fact that there is no electricity or cell reception is brilliant. Absolute peace. Alta, Willie and Helga are friendly people that go out of their way for their guests, Thanks guys, Brilliant. You will see me again.
