Hangman's Lookout is located in the beautiful Gronfontein Valley 11.3 kilometers outside Calitzdorp past the dam. Escape and relax in this tranquil hidden gem in the Klein Karoo.
This hideaway is perfect for mountain biking.

Complete privacy, one with nature. Down the gravel road, past the Homestead, across the paddock, over the bridge, ascending the hill and up the stairs to reach your private sanctuary in the mountains.
Dogs ARE welcome . However to ensure a happy outing for your dog it is IMPORTANT that you let us know in advance you are bringing a dog.

It is situated on the side of a hill and offers lovely walks, hiking trails and for the more adventurous rock climbing. Ideal for cyclists and bird watchers. In the area, there are well-known wine cellars, galleries and beautiful drives.

Hidden gem in the Klein Karoo by

The comfortable and uniquely decorated cottage offers privacy and splendid views, even from the loo! The calming sounds of the creek below and the birds above were so relaxing. The indoor fireplace was delightful on the chilly winter night, and the ample firewood supply was a pleasant surprise. The hike onto the ridge above the cottage was particularly enjoyable. We were treated to stunning views of the Klein Karoo and the beautiful veld. Peter was a great host, and we highly recommend visiting Hangman's Lookout.
