Request a Quote BALLITO BACKPACKERS REVIEWS (68 %) Ghastly place by Natalie Tkaczynski, South Africa Saturday, 06 July 2013 For a start, the photo on this page of the barstools and umbrella near the sea-shore is a nearby restaurant, NOT the backpackers. This is misrepresentation. We had great difficulty even finding the entrance to the backpackers since it is on the upper floors of a half-empty office block and there was poor signage. The room was clean but consisted of only 4 bunkbeds, a small chair and 4 hooks. The showers were up another level at the end of a spooky corridor, and there was no hot water at the time we stayed. The kitchen was big but was untidy with half-eaten meals on the benches and dishes in the sink. The Fire Escape to the roof was padlocked. The lounge area was tatty and ripped. There was no Wifi and no towel hire available. We had to find someone to unlock the car park gate when we wanted to leave at 8.20am. There is a Nightclub on the same premises and the noise pounded from 11pm until 2am - great for party-goers but not if you need to sleep. There were also fights on the street outside when the club closed. Even though we are an older couple, we're not stodgy and have stayed in many backpackers around the world. We booked in on 23 December and had to book out on the 24 December 2013 and had to look for new accommondation due to poor maintenance and load music during the night; according to the advertising all the rooms have air-conditionings in them? They don't even work ?????
The beds are in poor conditions the kitchine are of poor quality everything in this place is old. They don't say anything about the load music during the night; the place is surrounded by night clubs.
