The South Coast is known for its luxury accommodation, gourmet food and sparsely-peopled beaches. Never less so than during the December holiday season when hordes of ill-weathered visitors from the disreputable parts of Joburg descend on it. In the midst of all this mayhem in this gem of a hotel, precisely as beautiful, hospitable and tasteful as it appears on in the brochures. It's small, doesn't allow little kids and has a wonderful restaurant and bar that's private and romantic. The rooms (we stayed in the largest suite) are all positioned with a view of the ocean and loads of space and private balconies. It has a spectacular pool overlooking the ocean, with the lush coastal forests stretching out between. We were particularly impressed by the willingness of the hotel to cater for our dietary (vegan) choices -- and we were treated to some of the best food we've had anywhere. Katja made a superhuman effort for us, which we sincerely appreciated. It's not a cheap option -- but all in, is no more expensive than any other exclusive establishment of this sort and in many ways superior. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an idyllic romantic getaway far from the crowds and utterly decadent.

We spent two fantastic days at "Days at Sea" earlier this month. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The setting, facilities and suites are all beautiful! We were extremely impressed with the wine list (and cellar) and the food was outstanding. Katja went out of her way to make our stay there memorable. We will most cetainly be back - Thank you!
