Four-Oaks Guesthouse is on the same premises as MonTQ Restaurant which is the 3rd oldest building in Montagu (build in 1860).Being in the centre of town it forms part of the rich history Montagu has.
Historical buildings such as Montagu museum & Joubert House is within a stroll (1min).
All rooms open onto a court yard where guests are more than welcome to sit and enjoy quiet time or sharing a glass of wine. In our enclosed garden area with a beautiful array of plants and secluded pool you can enjoy the mountains views of historically Montagu.
46 Long Street hosts MonTQ Restaurant serves food in a class of its own and pairs this eating experience with world renowned wines of the surrounding wine estates. An experience with to be remembered.

We had a very comfortable room in this lovely old building full of Montague character. The host and hostess were welcoming and good company over a bottle of wine in the bar.

When hosts become friends by

When we planned our road trip through the Karoo over the Christmas period, we didn't consider that all restaurants and shops would be closed for the public holidays. Well this fact did not deter the hosts and owners of Four Oaks Guest House in the quaint town of Montagu from providing a wonderfully hospitable and memorable experience. On arrival we were welcomed by Wendy and Simon and their delightful little daughter, Caley-Ann.
On remarking that we didn't plan our eating arrangements very well, Simon casually reacted 'not to worry - we always look after our resident guests', to which Wendy responded that she would knock up some snacks in the courtyard followed by dinner in the restaurant (which was closed) and 'is there anything we don't eat?'.
Wendy's culinary skills were dazzling, the wine was excellent and we felt extremely privileged to share our hosts' table. (The 'Black Gold' dessert was the cherry on the top!) We thoroughly enjoyed the remainder of our two night stay and the company of our new friends. Our room was comfortable with fresh white linen, a much-needed air conditioner and the chance to laze and catch up with a movie on the flat screen TV. There was a pool for our daughter to take a splash with Caley-Ann and Route 62 was on the door step. We can highly recommend the experience and hope to create another opportunity to return to Four Oaks Guest House in the future.
