Achab is located at the foot of the Gamgamichab mountains, only 9.5 km south of Usakos on the D1914 road. Achab has been set aside as a private initiative for conservation of various fauna and flora, including the mountain zebra, leopard and endemic bird species.

Located 150 km from Swakopmund and 200 km from Windhoek, it is the ideal place to get away from it all. Achab offers luxury campsites, scenic views, hiking trails, various natural rock pools, and harbours a variety of free-roaming game including Hartman zebra and leopard, as well as a rich diversity of bird species.

Gem in the rough! by

We arrived at Achab and were completely blown away by the efficiency of your staff as well as the camps and that amazing swimming pool of yours. The welcome note at the camp was a nice personal touch. We without a doubt will be joining you guys again but for much longer on our next trip to Namibia. The rock pools and 4x4 drive were also awesome! The facilities were super clean and well kept! Thanks guys, it was incredible!!!!!

No one to receive us at reception and no reception either. Gate was locked and had to phone numerous times to get the correct code to enter. We were assured that we will be met by someone in a couple of minutes after arriving at 17h00. The person only appeared at 21h20, drunk.

Facilities is as per the website, pretty basic but for us it was more than enough. Rock pools are empty, this could have been pointed out to us.

Further disappointment is the fact that we were robbed on a daily basis of our meat, tinned food, rusks and drinks. Evidence was found at the caretakers house.
