Abancidou Lodge is located in a small platteland town called Gariep Dam, also known by the Koi-San as Groot Waters.

This lodge consists of eight units, each unit is equipped with all bedding, towels, a heater, a fan, toiletries and tea and coffee facilities. Guests have access to a communal living area with DStv, braai facilities, secure parking, Pool table and a communal fully equipped kitchen.

Gariep Dam offers a few things to do such as mountain bike trails, dining at De Stijl Gariep Hotel, and Gariep Dam Nature Reserve.

Nice and quite with lots of open space

Looking at the stars on the way back to Abancidou after supper! by

Proximity to the Gariep Dam and views of the dam from nearby. No hand towel or soap in the bathroom.

STOP-OVER by

Clean and basic. No TV. That was fine by me. We were the only visitors that night.

Very friendly on arrival by

The lodge needs to be upgraded and linen and bathroom facilities need attention.
