Crater Lake Camp

Tucked away in a hidden corner of Kenya's Great Rift Valley, Crater Lake offers a stirring encounter with wild Africa, just a 90 minute drive from Nairobi. This lakeside lodge is the perfect stopover en-route to Nakuru and the Maasai Mara game parks.

The camp is built on the shores of an old volcanic crater. The 11 spacious tents are set in secluded clearings, with sweeping views over the flamingo-lined waters. Each tent is furnished with four-poster beds and en-suite bathrooms with hot water.

The main restaurant and dining area has a high thatched roof with a rustic African veranda, overlooking the beautiful lake. Drinks and snacks are available in our restaurant throughout the day. Meals can be enjoyed either in the main dining area or on the veranda.

Activities at the camp are centred around the nature and wildlife. There are guided nature walks in the crater and the bird list is over 400 species recorded. There are a variety of wildlife in the sanctuary and at night the hippos come out of the main Naivasha Lake to graze. It is also possible to see the aardvark and spring hares on our night game drives. There is a colony of over 70 Colombus monkeys living at the lodge, and for most of the year there are flamingos covering almost the entire lake.
